Kudumbashree State Poverty Eradication Mission is an innovative system established in 1998 by the Department of Local Self-Government of the State of Kerala, with the objective of poverty eradication. The Mission, which has undertaken poverty eradication as its primary responsibility, implements its activities through a community-based organizational system formed under the leadership of Local Self-Government Institutions.
As the activities of Kudumbashree have become stronger and more extensive, it has evolved into a strong organizational system of women aimed at achieving the objectives of economic empowerment, social empowerment, and women’s empowerment.
